All the joys...

of the last month of pregnancy. All I can say is WHAT THE FREAK?!! Everything has been so great up until about a week ago, but all of the sudden things have gone down hill very fast. Here's a list of a few "neat" things happening:

* I no longer have feeling in my right hand. Apparently you can develop Carpel Tunnel Syndrome, or torture as I like to call it, at the end of a pregnancy due to the compression of nerves. On top of the numbness, it also feels like someone has beat my hands with a hammer. They are so sore!

* My ankles have taken on a life of their own. Kankels have turned into Thankels (as big as my thigh). No matter how much I keep my feet up, they still swell. I can ONLY wear flip flops at this point. I have this one pair that has a very thin strap and at the end of the day, the strap has disappeared into the folds of the swollen foot. PRETTY!

* Clothes...since skirts are out (don't want to scare the children) I am down to my last 3 pairs of pants that fit and a handful of shirts. Thank goodness for the cooler weather.

* Sitting to Standing...this normally thoughtless task that we do dozens of times each day is now huge deal.

I know it seems like a lot of negative, and it does suck, but just look at the latest picture of Parker...is he not the cutest thing ever?! Getting to see him makes all the bad stuff not seem so bad. This is the last sono we had at 35 weeks. You can see his little profile. His arms are crossed over his chest and he is puckering his lips.



I am into my 36th week at this point. I go to the doctor on Thursday to see how I am progressing. As of last week he had dropped, but nothing else. Parker is weighing in just over 6 lbs at this point and the doctor said that is completely normal for where I am at in the pregnancy. So just a few more weeks of watching my blood sugar and everything should be okay. We did our hospital tour this past Sunday and the instructor did tell me that since I had GD then once I had him he would have to be taken by a special nurse to make sure his blood sugar was okay. He may have to be monitored for a little while, but once they know he is fine I will get to have him. So please say prayers that he is okay and we do get to be with him right after birth.
